How do I access services?
All services can be accessed by contacting us directly in person or by phone/e-mail.
Some programs require eligibility screening and/or referral from an outside agency and if this is necessary, we will assist you with that process.
Do I have to be Catholic?
No. We serve families of the Battlefords and area regardless of religious affiliation. Spirituality is defined by the client.
What is counselling exactly?
Counselling is a process through which the client and the counsellor work together to explore and resolve personal difficulties and create positive change. The goal of counselling is to support clients to make their own choices, reach their own decisions, and to act on them. Counselling is a professional relationship of trust.
Is school counselling free?
All of our school-based services are offered free of charge.
What do you charge?
Fees for services are determined using a sliding scale based on income and number of dependents. Many of our programs and services are available free of charge. We do not deny services to anyone based on his or her economic situation. If your employer or insurance provider offers counselling services as a part of your employee benefits package, we may direct bill or provide you with receipts to submit for reimbursement. Are your counsellors registered?
All of our social workers are registered with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers. Counsellors with other credentials are registered with their respective professional body as applicable.
How long do I have to wait to get in?
We respond to requests for service as quickly as possible giving priority to urgent circumstances. Under Employee Assistance Programs, services are offered within 48 business hours.
